Host: “A coalition of San Francisco area community organizations today kicked off their part of a campaign for Schools & Communities First. Emily Lee is with the San Francisco Rising Alliance, one of the groups involved in the coalition. She explained what the campaign is all about.”
Emily Lee: “The Schools & Communities First campaign is really about ending unfair tax breaks for corporations and wealthy investors and reclaiming about $12 billion per year for our schools and our communities. And what this will do is that will be making corporations pay their fair share of taxes so that we can really invest in our students and our teachers who right now are really underfunded in our public schools, as well as bringing more funds to our local cities and counties.”
