The event will also provide an opportunity for attendees to complete their voter registration on-site in a way that is safe and convenient. SF Rising and St. Anthony’s are excited to offer Register On The Block weekly, on Mondays 11am – 2pm, Tuesdays 9:30am – 1pm, and Thursdays 9:30am – 2pm.
“Register On The Block will address the information gap that prevents eligible citizens in the Tenderloin from getting registered to vote, casting a ballot, and having their voices heard in our democracy,” says Calder Lorenz, Senior Manager of Advocacy at
St. Anthony’s. “So we are incredibly excited to partner with San Francisco Rising on this important community effort.”
“This year’s election is critical on so many fronts, and we need all eligible voters to register, make a plan to vote, and then vote early or vote on November 3rd,” says Emily Lee, Director of San Francisco Rising. “For too long, our unhoused neighbors have not had the support and access they need to participate in our democracy through voting. ‘Register on the Block’ will be a step in truly making voting accessible for all San Franciscans by bringing voter registration directly to the people.”
St. Anthony’s provides food, clothing, medical care, shelter, addiction recovery services, access to technology, job training, and other critical resources to the community. Every day we support and are supported by thousands of San Franciscans. Everyone who comes through our doors joins the St. Anthony’s family and helps us create a future where all people flourish.
